Ben Morgan’s Glorious Goodwood Day 2 tips – Buick set for a Ball on Day 2

Racing Ahead’s resident tipster Ben Morgan selects his best bets for the action across day two of the 2026 Glorious Goodwood Festival.

2.25 – Zigazig Ah to add some spice on Day 2

An interesting race with plenty of different form lines that are set to be tested.

I quite like the claims of ZIGAZIG AH after her Super Sprint win at Newbury 11 days ago and think her upward curve of improvement is much more trustworthy than the form of the early two year old form that some of her rivals possess.

She showed that day her ability to travel into a race and then stay to the line which is something she will need to do here as well.

It looks like a few of these will be keen to get on with it and as long as she can keep up early then I think she will be coming home strongly in the final furlong despite her ‘low’ rating.

3.35 – Hannon to enhance Molecomb record

A real speed test for these two year olds and I respect what connections of Adonius have done by waiting for this race which will clearly suit a speed ball which is what they seem to possess.

However, I do think he will do well to give weight to an improving filly like PERSHAADA who backed up her impressive win here by finishing 4th in a strong Queen Mary.

Richard Hannon has a good bunch of two year olds this year and he has always thought of her being somewhere near the top of that list and although her form is strong so far, I do think there could be plenty more to come.

She seemed to be really suited by the test that Goodwood presented when she won here and a repeat of that performance will see her go close for sure.

4.10 – Opera could be star of the show in fascinating Sussex

What OPERA BALLO did in the Queen Anne went a little bit under the radar I think as he had no right to finish as close as he did given how fast he set off.

Billy Loughnane got the fractions all wrong, I felt, but the horse still very nearly dug him out of a hole by powering on right until the final 50 yards when he got reeled in by More Thunder and Ten Bob Tony.

Connections immediately highlighted this race as his next target as the bend here will allow jockey William Buick to get a good blow into him before he continues to stride on up the straight.

The quick ground will make him very hard to catch and he looks NAP material here at 9/2.
