Enable set for Kempton run

Enable is on course to be the star attraction among the nine entrants for Saturday’s Unibet September Stakes at Kempton

The John Gosden-trained six-year-old was last seen winning the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes in impressive fashion at Ascot last month and she had been tipped to rival Love in last week’s Yorkshire Oaks.

However, connections opted to swerve that meeting at York and will instead aim the mare at this weekend’s Group Three on the all-weather, which will act as part of her preparations for the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at ParisLongchamp on October 4, where she will go in search of a third title.

Owner Khalid Abdullah also has Logician entered in Saturday’s race, but connections have confirmed the colt has only been put forward as a precaution and will not be going head-to-head against Enable.

“They won’t run against each other,” confirmed Abdullah’s racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe to Racing TV. “Enable is very much an intended runner at this stage. We entered Logician just in case, as he is nearing a return and we’re considering a couple of different options.”
