Paul Ferguson with his Betfair Hurdle fancies

The entries for Newbury’s valuable Betfair Hurdle were released shortly before this month’s magazine went to print and given that we have enjoyed plenty of success in the race in recent years, I thought I would focus on it once again.
As with all handicaps, unexposed novices are the starting point for me and no fewer than 10 of the past 15 winners had run four times or fewer over hurdles, so it is very much a race which favours those open to most improvement.
