HOT SHOTS SET TO FIRE: Paul Ferguson eyes a livewire bunch poised and already bagging prizes

Paul Ferguson looks back on Punchestown, the Guineas and Chester to highlight the horses catching the eye ahead of Royal Ascot and the summer festivals, including Bow Echo, Klassleader and Constitution River.

Although the Derby and Royal Ascot are on the horizon, I wanted to look back this month and nominate a clutch of horses who recently caught the eye, whilst also highlighting potential contenders for some of those upcoming meetings.

Going back to the opening day of the Punchestown Festival and Olly Murphy’s Daylatedollarshort ran well in defeat in the first race of the five-day fixture.
Twice a winner at Wetherby – latterly in a qualifier for this race – he stayed on strongly to go down by just half-a-length, having initially been slightly outpaced mid-race.
