Aidan O'Brien says Winter could have her next run in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot after cantering to the Irish 1,000 Guineas.
O'Brien enjoyed a clean sweep in Sunday's Classic at the Curragh, Winter leading home stablemates Roly Poly and Hydrangea just a day after the Ballydoyle handler watched his charge Churchill claim the Irish 2,000 Guineas.
The in-form trainer has dominated the Classics so far this season, Winter having seen off Rhododendron to win the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket three weeks ago before her comprehensive triumph in the Irish equivalent.
Jockey Ryan Moore said it had been “very easy” for Winter to claim the Irish 1,000 Guineas and O'Brien is now weighing up where to send the three-year-old next with Royal Ascot on the horizon.
“She's not short of pace. You'd imagine she might get a mile and quarter when she gets a mile that strong here at the Curragh, but she's a good traveller,” said O'Brien.
“Ryan was very impressed with her. He said she was as easy a Classic winner as you could believe.
“If everything went well, you'd be thinking of the Coronation Stakes [at Royal Ascot] with her, because she is a good strong traveller.
“If everything is well then you have to make your mind up where you go after that. Do you go to Goodwood over a mile and a quarter [Nassau Stakes], or do you go to the Falmouth and those races?
“The lads will talk about it and see what they want to do.”
