WELCOME TO 200TH ISSUE

THIS is our 200th issue of Ahead and given everything that racing has been through in the past couple of years, that is something to celebrate.

The support of our readers and advertisers has been esential, of course, and we thank you.

Many have been with us since Kris Kin adorned the cover of issue one in June 2004. In that first issue we interviewed Pat Eddery and other legends from Henry Cecil to have in our pages.

Many of our can also raise their bat for a double hundred of articles. Andrew Ayres has been with us since day one, while Paul Ferguson and Jeremy Grayson have done many years of fine service.

Younger talents like Ben Morgan have emerged and one of the reasons was started was to give new writers an outlet.

But we do enjoy featuring more experienced columnists, too, with Fenman fondly remembered. Our regulars include naps , Yesterday's Heroes author Graham Buddry, Ian Heitman and Jeremy Grayson.

Sky racing expert has been a recent star addition to our stable and Nick Townsend contributes outstanding interviews.

Moving to Greenways in 2013 gave the a solid foundation to help preserve its future. That will see Racing Ahead through to 250 editions and beyond. It's also worth noting that the price of the magazine is a penny less in August 2021 than it was on our opening day 17 years ago.
