If you’re looking for Saturday’s ITV horse racing tips on the free-to-air channels, you’re in the right place.
I’ve put together my top 1-2-3 selections for every single televised race on Saturday, July 18th, covering the action from Newbury, Ripon, and Market Rasen.
We’ve got a fantastic seven-race ITV Racing card to look forward to, headlined by the Group 3 Hackwood Stakes at Newbury and the always-thrilling Summer Plate over the jumps at Market Rasen.
Here is a quick look at my main selections for the day:

ITV Horse Racing Tips – Newbury Best Bets: Hannon Has Strong Hand In Weatherbys Sprint

Richard Hannon
13:55 Newbury – BetVictor Steventon Stakes (Listed) | 1m 2f
Godolphin has an incredible record in this race, taking home five of the last 16 renewals.
I’m backing AL ZANATI to keep that streak alive.
While the “boys in blue” also have Arabian Light entered, stable jockey William Buick has chosen to ride Al Zanati.
He was last seen finishing a solid sixth in the Dante Stakes at York back in May. That form has worked out brilliantly since, with the third-place horse from that race, Christmas Day, going on to win the Epsom Derby.
Before that, Al Zanati ran a close second to Raaheeb, who subsequently finished a highly respectable fourth in the Irish Derby.
After a 65-day break to freshen up, and with the Charlie Appleby yard flying right now, he looks primed to strike. Persica and Arabian Light look like the main dangers.
🥇 AL ZANATI
🥈 Persica
🥉 Arabian Light
14:25 Newbury – Pertemps Handicap (Class 2) | 2m ½f
ALMUHIT won this race in style 12 months ago, and I think Faye Bramley’s runner has a huge chance of repeating the feat.
He arrives here rated 2lbs lower than last year and comes off a very encouraging second-place finish to Baileys Khelstar.
He faces that rival again today but is 2lbs better off this time around. The Bramley yard is in fantastic form at the moment, boasting a stellar 43% strike rate with their four-year-olds and up at this Berkshire track.
Of the rest, Baileys Khelstar is the obvious danger, while Northumberland Plate favorite Ride The Thunder should appreciate getting back onto the turf.
🥇 ALMUHIT
🥈 Baileys Khelstar
🥉 Ride The Thunder
15:02 Newbury – Hackwood Stakes (Group 3) | 6f
We often call this division the “sprint wheel of madness” on the Final Furlong podcast because it throws up some truly wild results.
With that in mind, I’m taking a chance on NOBLE CHAMPION at a big price.
Ed Walker’s runner needs to bounce back from two disappointing efforts, but both come with valid excuses.
His last run was on the all-weather at Newcastle (his first try there), and before that, he hated the soft ground over in France. Prior to those runs, he unfortunately lost his action at Goodwood.
If you can take a leap of faith and draw a line through those starts, you’ll remember he was a brilliant winner of the 2025 Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot, bolting up by over three lengths ahead of some top-class horses.
At 20/1, he is worth a small each-way bet to see if he can rediscover that level of form.
🥇 NOBLE CHAMPION (e/w)
🥈 Soldier’s Tree
🥉 Song Of The Clyde

15:37 Newbury – Weatherbys Super Sprint Stakes (Class 2) | 5f
This is always an incredibly tough puzzle to solve with so many unexposed two-year-olds, so I’m splitting my stakes with a two-pronged attack from the Richard Hannon yard: ROLLTHEDICEBABY and FROM ME TO YOU
Hannon has an incredible record in this race, winning it four times since 2014.
Rollthedicebaby won nicely on soft ground at Goodwood last time out, and the form has been boosted since.
Jockey Sean Levey, who rides, has been aboard Hannon’s last two winners in this event.
Meanwhile, From Me To You is worth a saver.
He runs in first-time cheekpieces today having been gelded since his last run 75 days ago. His sixth at Kempton looks solid, and he should run a big race fresh.
🥇 ROLLTHEDICEBABY
🥈 FROM ME TO YOU
🥉 Angels Lane
ITV Horse Racing Tips – Market Rasen Best Bets: Cobden To Have A Good Day
14:10 Market Rasen – Betway Summer Hurdle | 2m ½f
I’m siding with MOJITO TO DES MOTTES to give Harry Cobden his third victory in this race since 2020.
Cobden rides this Ben Pauling runner for his new boss, JP McManus. Connections have clearly targeted this race, bringing him here fresh after a 111-day break.
He was last seen finishing a neck second at Ascot, catching the eye with the way he stayed on late.
That was only his fifth career start and his first since a wind operation, meaning there is likely plenty of improvement to come off a very handy weight of 10st-9lbs.
🥇 MOJITO TO DES MOTTES
🥈 Louis Veron
🥉 High Fibre
14:45 Market Rasen – Betway Summer Plate Handicap Chase | 2m 5½f
Harry Cobden could be set for a massive afternoon over the jumps. I’m backing him to guide SOUL ICON to victory in the day’s feature race.
This Keiran Burke runner finished a desperately close second in this very race back in 2024, and he returns here rated only 4lbs higher.
Interestingly, Cobden rode the winner (Sure Touch) that day but jumps on our selection this time. Soul Icon hasn’t been seen since being brought down in the Topham at Aintree, so he comes here fresh.
While the trip can sometimes stretch him, Cobden has a brilliant 50% strike rate on the horse and has won the last three runnings of this race. I expect him to make it four.
🥇 SOUL ICON
🥈 Queensbury Boy
🥉 Kingston Narcissus
ITV Horse Racing Tips – Ripon Best Bets: Side With Course Specialist
15:15 Ripon – Ripon Bell-Ringer Handicap | 1m 4f
For our final televised race, SPIORADALTA gets the definite nod.
Mark Walford’s runner absolutely loves Ripon. He has won his last four races at the track and has never finished outside of the top four in eight career starts here.
The handicapper has kindly dropped him a pound after two average runs at York and Windsor, but he is simply a different beast when he sees the Ripon gates.
While he hasn’t won over this 1m 4f trip yet, he’s only tried it twice, and having Paul Mulrennan back in the saddle is a massive plus.
🥇 SPIORADALTA(e/w) (NAP)
🥈 Salamanca City
🥉 Elsass
