Bright start for big finish: Simon Nott has been out following the money at Brighton and Ascot

I rarely get to Brighton, it’s a fair schlep from the Shire, but I do enjoy the racing there when the opportunity arises.
Over the last three years I’ve been going for these three days in August to cover the betting ring for Star Sports who have sponsored the festival which is their local course, this was the fourth.
