DERBY WASH OUT FOR THE BOOKIES

Simon Nott suffered with the bagmen on rain-lashed Epsom Downs

When I got to Epsom for Derby Day, it was absolutely tipping it down and blowing a gale, just the sort of weather we enjoyed a few times at Epsom on Derby Day recently and never much fun. I was working with Star Sports who had two Derbies to staff today, also betting the Greyhound version they sponsored at Towcester. Lovely racecourse that it is, hopefully being brought back to host horseracing next year, fingers crossed, it always feels cold up there, so given a choice of the two, Epsom’s where I was happy to be.
