STARLETS ON ROYAL STAGE: Ian Heitman previews arrival of the young debs at Ascot’s blue riband gala

Ian Heitman assesses the leading two-year-old prospects for Royal Ascot 2026, including standout juveniles from Aidan O’Brien, Karl Burke and Wesley Ward.

Royal Ascot, one of the world’s premier flat meetings, is just a couple of weeks away beginning on June 16 and just as in previous years, the meeting begins with three of the first four races being Group 1 races.

Six of the 35 races are for two-year-olds with a significant change to one of the races, the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes now being run over 6f rather than 5f and is restricted to runners whose sire won over 7f as a 2yo or over a mile plus from 3yo and above.
