3.10 – Further rain will aid Seagulls’ mission
There’s no doubting SEAGULLS ELEVEN has improved this year given the fine season he has already had but I think there could be a bit more to come from him through the Autumn.
His win in France earlier this season proved that he doesn’t handle softer underfoot conditions well and given we have had such a dry Summer he probably performed above himself when winning at Epsom and finishing third at Ascot when the ground was riding much quicker.
With plenty of rain forecast this weekend, Hugo Palmer will be hopeful there will be some easing in the ground at Goodwood and if so I think the selection will be the one to beat.

2.50 – Buick looks a Regal booking for Gosden
I always take note of William Buick riding John Gosden horses given their past relationship and I think they could team up for more success with SO REGAL.
A filly who looked a smart individual earlier in the season hasn’t been seen since finishing second at York in May which I hope might be a deliberate ploy from connections to allow her to develop into her frame as I do think she is going to improve as she gets older.
Breeding wise, she is certainly up this level, it will just be a case of seeing how fit she is after her small break.
The fact Buick has been enlisted to do the steering suggests she should be fit enough.
