Noonday Gun is a
really interesting runner today at Goodwood. By Dubawi out of Sky Lantern you
would have got long odds on him ever racing over 2 miles but that's exactly
what he does today and it's possible he may just excel over that trip after
powering away over 1m 4f last time.
However, I'm going
to take a chance that he doesn't stay the extended trip and instead back SOPHAR SOGOOD who is pretty much
guaranteed to stay the trip. Paul D'Arcy's consistent 3 year old has been
knocking on the door for some time now but has had the misfortune of bumping
into one or two well handicapped horses. This looks a good opportunity for him
to break his horrible run of near finishes as I can't see anything lurking
apart from the favourite. If the favourite fails to stay, I'm sure the
selection will pick up the pieces.
