Ben`s Tips of the DAY

            My
Saturday have been saving me in recent weeks and long may that continue.
It isn't a vintage Saturday, quality wise, today but there are a couple which
catch my eye across the cards.

            First
up, I think SAINT LAWRENCE will give
us a good run for our money in the Denford stakes at 1.50. Roger Varian's horse
is a son of Al Kazeem who looks to be the proven class act amongst these and is
already rated 98. His fourth in the Superlative is rock solid form and his
earlier performances are not too shabby either. His run last time at is a
funny one as I think he is much better than that but didn't really show it. He
is undoutbetbly going to be suited by further in time but this 7f at
could be just what he needs at this present moment in his career.

            There
are a lot of unknowns in this race and previous experience has taught me to
stand by proven performers, especially with two year olds.

            Across
at , I really like the claims of NIGHT
BEAR
who only found the progressive Revolver too good at last time.
Prior to that he proved himself a progressive performer over trips short of his
best and consequently could have plenty up his sleeve. The drop in trip
shouldn't pose a problem, but with that being said we will need an honest pace
to run at which isn't always a given here at Newmarket. A mark of 82 should be well
within his reach and he gets a confident vote here.

Newbury 1.50 – Saint Lawrence – 2pt win

Newmarket 2.05 – Night Bear – 2pt win
