Lanigan packing up Newmarket operation

Trainer David Lanigan has announced he will be closing his stables, as he prepares to relocate to Kentucky in the United States.

The 44-year-old has been training since 2007 and in that time has saddled 202 winners in Great Britain, including the 2015 winner of the Wokingham at Royal , Interception.

Mares Meeznah and Worth Waiting have also brought him group success, while Main Sequence claimed second place behind Camelot in the 2012 edition of .

Lanigan has now revealed he will close down his Rathmoy Stables, as he and his wife Amy prepare to make their home Stateside in Lexington.

“Moving back to Kentucky has been something that we have been thinking about for a while and the timing is right for us now to make the move.

“I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported us as they have been central to the success that we have enjoyed. I genuinely hope that I will be able to work with each of them again.”
