Trainer Nicky Henderson plans to run former Triumph Hurdle winner Peace And Co in the Matchbook Imperial Cup at Sandown.
The Simon Munir and Isaac Soude-owned gelding has not been seen out since pulling up in last year's Champion Hurdle but Henderson plans to give the six year-old a gallop at Kempton ahead of a possible run at the Grade Three handicap on March 11.
Peace and Co has been eased back into action after suffering a wind problem, which required surgery, and he then picked up pneumonia but things appear to be heading in the right direction now.
Henderson said: “He is working extremely well. I might take him to Kempton this week for a gallop. All that lunacy has gone. I'm not saying you are suddenly going to see another Lazarus, but you might do.
“He has been working with all those good boys over the last three weeks. He is a very good horse. He is in the Imperial Cup. He has just been a completely different horse. He has had a wind operation while he has also had pneumonia.
“You can ride him in front or behind. You can do anything with him at home where as it used to be like it was on the racecourse where everything is at 100 miles an hour.”
