Hales reveals Festival plans for Ibis Du Rheu

Owner John Hales has revealed that Ibis Du Rheu is likely to run in the RSA Chase at next month's .

The six-year-old has shown up well during three previous outings over fences, finishing third on his last run at last weekend's Timeform Novices' Handicap Chase at Cheltenham.

Hales has certainly been impressed by the -trained bay gelding, and he has now confirmed that the horse is likely to run in the RSA Chase at this year's Festival.

“He ran a super race at Cheltenham,” Hales said. “He should have probably finished second, but it was such a good effort giving lumps of weight away like he did. He'll go for the RSA now and he should hopefully go well.”

Should Ibis Du Rheu not run in the RSA Chase, then he still holds entries in the Hunt Challenge Cup and the JLT Novices' Chase, as he looks to build on the victory he achieved at last year's Festival in the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle.
