Coleman hails Put The Kettle On’s spirit

Prestbury Park, Cheltenham

Jockey heaped praise on Put The Kettle On after victory in the Grade 2 Shloer Chase at .

Put The Kettle On jumped poorly at the third-last well and appeared destined to finish behind Duc Des Genievres.

However, she dug deep and caught the leader in the final stride to make it three wins from as many attempts at Cheltenham, having won the Chase at the last season.

“She had to really dig deep, all credit to her,” said Coleman, as reported by the Post. “We came here last year thinking the ground would be too soft and she won that day and then won at the in similar ground.

“But that was definitely very hard work for her. Although her jumping was still exceptional, it wasn’t as fluent as she could possibly be and that’s why I wanted to go wide. She’s all heart this filly.”
