Ascot options for Actress

Connections are now looking at Royal Ascot for Actress after the filly sealed her first victory at the Curragh on Sunday.

The two-year-old opened her season with a second-place finish at Naas on May 1 but went one better in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden.

Donnacha O’Brien kept his mount handy and got a decent response from the daughter of Declaration Of War when asking the question to score by three-quarters of a length from Yolo Star.

Another of Aidan O’Brien‘s charges, Could It Be Love, was third but it was all about Actress and the winning jockey admits that a trip to Berkshire may now be on the cards.

“Probably six furlongs would suit her even better but the race was here for her and she’s done it very nicely,” he said. “I don’t know if she’d run again, but I suppose Ascot would have to be on the cards now.”
