It is time to smile off the troubles and woes of winter and jump to the joys of Festival spring.
Financial worries and injury woes are set aside for a week as the much-loved, world-class spectacle of great National Hunt champions in thrilling action unfolds.
Yes, Coral pulled the plug on sponsorship in the wake of the tax controversy engulfing racing – as Rolf Johnson clearly warned in last month’s issue – yes, stables, racetracks, industry lynchpins and many hard-working staff are under fierce money pressure, yes, climate change is an ever-present threat.
But the Festival promises temporary – yet massive and much-needed – relief from these concerns.
And we have a bumper issue packed with the best tips, information and analysis to help and advise you through a month of the very best of jumps racing.
Of course, there will be injuries, changes of plan, switches and withdrawals, making our experts’ efforts tricky and frustrating – but bear with them for the very best overall picture of what is in store.
Thank you all for your continued and growing support, and as always, we wish you – Be lucky!
