DON JUAN DU GOUET was a well punted favourite last time out at Uttoxeter but could only muster a third placed finish. It was a ‘decent' run but more was obviously expected of him and I think the step up in trip should bring about improvement. He seemed to get done for toe up the straight at Uttoxeter but still plugged at the one pace which suggests he may appreciate a little further these days. He is still well handicapped on his best form and if connections have rejuvenated him then he must go close today.
