No horse in history has ever won the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe three times, but having now won the last two Daryz could become the first if lining-up again in 2027 aged 5.
Before Daryz, eight horses have managed ‘back-to-back’ victories – including Ksar, Motrico, Corrida, Tantieme, Ribot, Alleged, Treve, and Enable-a third consecutive triumph has remained the ultimate unscalable peak at ParisLongchamp.
Following his sensational performance in 2026, Daryz became the first male horse (colt) to claim consecutive Arc victories since Alleged accomplished the feat under Lester Piggott in 1977 and 1978.
The brilliant Enable famously sealed consecutive Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe wins in 2017 and 2018, but she did so as a mare.
Now, with a defence secured for a second year running, all eyes turn to whether Daryz can do what no thoroughbred before him has achieved.

2026 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe: Daryz Makes History at ParisLongchamp
The 2026 renewal of the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe delivered a masterclass performance over the classic 2,400-meter test.
Ridden by jockey Mickael Barzalona, the elite Aga Khan Studs colt Daryz produced a brilliant surge down the Longchamp home straight to retain his crown.
The victory capped off another spotless campaign for trainer Francis-Henri Graffard, handing him ‘back-to-back’ trainer victories in Europe’s signature race.
While no horse has ever captured three Arcs in a row, the record books show that humans have occasionally managed triple crowns of their own:
Plus the win saw Daryz extend his winning record at Longchamp to eight (from 9) – his only defeat at the Paris track was a short-head second in the G3 Prix du Prince d’Orange in 2025.

• Trainers: No trainer in the history of the race has ever won the Arc three times in a row.
Francis-Henri Graffard also now stands on the precipice of unique history heading into 2027.
• Jockeys: Achieving a hat-trick in the saddle is extraordinarily rare, but two legendary riders have managed three straight wins:
- Pat Eddery: 1985 (Rainbow Quest), 1986 (Dancing Brave), and 1987 (Trempolino).
- Olivier Peslier: 1996 (Helissio), 1997 (Peintre Celebre), and 1998 (Sagamix).

At 8/1, markets acknowledge both Daryz’s world-class ability and the sheer physical test of staying at the absolute pinnacle of international racing across three consecutive seasons.
Just behind Daryz is 2026 Arc third Diamond Necklace, who ran a blinder from gate 16.
While with geldings allowed in 2027 for the first time another top Aga Khan Stud-owned horse Calandagan can now run – he’s around 20/1.
Miss Scott, who landed the 2026 Prix de l’Opera, is 40/1.
