I’d be keen to take on some of the Gosden shorties today with Inspiral the top of that list. She has looked good in two starts to date but 1/3 in a two year old race at the back end of the season isn’t something that I would want be taking. Her form is nothing out of the ordinary and I’d much rather have a punt on Andrew Balding’s SPEAK who impressed me on debut at Kempton. It looked to me that she really knew her job late on as she quickened away in the final 100 yards to put the race to bed. I don’t think she was in top gear up the straight until that point late on so she may be worth more than her winning margin suggests. The fact her shrewd trainer chucks her in here on her second start could ‘speak’ volumes and at 6/1 I’ll happily take an each way punt on her.
Jessie Harrington isn’t one to tilt at windmills and the fact she has thrown SILENCE PLEASE into so many tough assignments this season suggests she thinks quite a bit of her. The step up in trip might just eke out a bit of improvement today and I don’t think it is the strongest of races for the grade. A lot of them will want more ease in the ground so if you can handle the ground and stay I think you win this race.
