February always used to be called the ‘quiet month’ for National Hunt racing as all eyes were focussed on the impending Cheltenham Festival.
But not any more, for apart from the Betfair Hurdle (February 13) there is now the superb Dublin Racing Festival at Leopardstown to unravel as the final Prestbury Park Trial link before the second week in March.
Those two days of outstanding jump racing have plenty of races worth winning, none more so than the Paddy Power Irish Gold Cup on February 7th.
