Alfa Mix has finished fourth in two beginners chases over inadequate trips, beaten 36 lengths on debut and 55 lengths by Captain Guinness last time. Seventh in the Coral Cup last March, I expect him to improve considerably once going up in distance, and if getting his act together over an intermediate trip in the early part of the year, he could well be of interest in handicaps at the spring festivals.
