Simon Nott spends the weekend at Cheltenham

It was an absolute disaster for many that Cheltenham’s Friday card was abandoned. On the other hand, given the amount of water that was sloshing around Gloucestershire, it was a minor miracle that racing actually took place on Saturday.
The eight-race card started early enough to ensure that those who took the opportunity of no racing to enjoy a tour of Cheltenham’s finer hostelries suffered suitably. There did appear to be a few sore heads lurking, many of them in the bar areas seemingly intent on torturing their hangover...
