Cheltenham 2.20 – Chic looks on point in open race
Jeremy Scott is a shrewd trainer but is rarely one to hit the ground running which might be why you are getting a good price about CHAMPAGNE CHIC in the Pertemps qualifier on Saturday.
However, with plenty of rain forecast I can see Scott’s gelding being one of only a few to appreciate that and with progressive form in the book from last term I think he could outrun his odds of 16/1.
His win at Haydock last Winter is strong form and although seemingly not right at Cheltenham or at Punchestown after that, the fact he took his chance at both tells you the regard that Scott holds him in.
He could progress again this season.

Cheltenham 2.55 – Dori to rewrite his Cheltenham story
KATATE DORI has some unfinished business at Cheltenham after narrowly getting touched off here last season.
Sam Thomas’ stayer shapes as though he has one of these valuable staying handicap chases in him despite not having it all go his way last year.
I think backing him fresh here might be the best time to catch him and if the favourite’s stamina doesn’t hold out, which I don’t think it will, then he is the standout bet in the race.
