Ascot Chase aim for improving Dashel Drasher

Dashel Drasher's course and distance win on Saturday is tempting Jeremy Scott to send him back to Berkshire for the Chase.

The eight-year-old has proven to be something of a track specialist after conquering the two-mile-and-five-furlong trip for the second race in a row.

Following December's two-length win over Itchy Feet, Dashel Drasher backed it up at the weekend by making virtually all the running to edge Bennys by a length and a quarter.

Scott is now planning his next move for the son of Passing Glance and seems to be favouring the Ascot Chase on February 20.

An entry in the Ryanair at March's is also on his agenda and the Dulverton-handler is keen to see what his charge can do when stepped up in quality.

“I was really impressed with him. It's interesting where we go now. He certainly looked more resilient than I possibly gave him credit for,” Scott is quoted as saying by Sky. “He might go back there for the Ascot Chase in a month's time. That's a possibility.

“It's over the same trip. It depends what is kicking around at the time. If he's all right, he'll probably have an entry. We'll see what the opposition is and take it from there.

“He's got the entry in the Ryanair, which is also a possibility. It would be nice to see him step up into graded company.”
