Skelton relishing Politologue’s Tingle Creek bid

Harry Skelton insists he has no concerns over Politologue's return to action against in the Chase.

Skelton partnered Politologue to Queen Mother success the last time the horse was seen on a track back in March and the jockey insists that he is in good form despite the lay-off.

Politologue failed to get involved in the Tingle Creek last year, coming home fifth of eight, but Skelton insists that are confident of a much better run as he has previously proven himself fresh, having won three times previously first time out.

“He blew out there a little bit last year, but I think Paul is much happier with him this time round,” Skelton said.

“The defeat in last year's race doesn't play on my mind, because he feels great to me – and we know he goes well fresh.”

Politologue has never beaten Altior in three previous attempts and was meant to have taken on his nemesis in the Queen Mother earlier this year, only for 's star to be withdrawn.

The pair will do battle on Saturday though and Skelton is relishing the prospect.

“We are taking on Altior – but when you are running in Grade One races you expect hot competition,” Skelton added.

“It's going to be a good race, and hopefully all the key players turn up.”
