Ben`s tips for today and the weekend

12.6.20

The 5.55 at Newbury looks a really competitive
race and there are a few nice types in here. The Ralph Beckett yard continue in
fine form and I'm taking a punt on both of his , FUTURE INVESTMENT and NETTE
ROUSSE
as I can't split them. Jockey bookings suggest that Nette Rousse is
the fancied one as Harry Bentley rides and one would imagine he would have had
the choice. On the other hand I was impressed with Future Investment last year
and he screams ‘progressive four year old' so
I can't let him go unbacked either.

            Both
have good form in the book and I think both will progress this year, with that
in mind and also the fact their trainer is in red hot form, they must surely go
close here.

            Just
half an hour later, my nerves will be jangling as my first big bet of the
season runs and that is MOLL DAVIS.
I was her number one fan last year and she repaid me in spades (still could
have been more) but I always felt she could offer more this year. Her return
run at last week was full of promise and she arguably could have won
granted a clear passage. Her trainer has stated he has some lofty targets in
mind this year and this may be the last time she lines up off a mark as low as
92. Don't miss her.

Newbury 5.55 – Future Investment 1pt win

  • Nette Rousse 1pt win

Newbury 6.25 – Moll Davis – 4pt win

SATURDAY
13.6.20

I've gone all in on Doncaster this Saturday
afternoon and I have found four selections which I hope will bring home plenty
of profit.

            First
up is BLACKCASTLE STORM who
represents the stable who haven't been enjoying the best of
times of it as late. Their hope, Brentford Hope has been ruled out of
some of his early season targets which would have been a cruel blow at such an
early stage. However, he still has plenty of nice horses in his yard and I
think this 3 year old could be let in on handicap debut off 77. He won at
with any amount in hand and had run in a hot maiden on
debut where he fared well. Hughes has enlisted Danny Tudhope for the ride and
that has to be a sign of confidence as he would have been in high demand here
at Doncaster. At 5/1 he looks a good bet.

            I
rate Asdaa's form at Newmarket last week but I do think he benefited from being
up with the pace throughout and there were probably some better horses who
finished behind him. Therefore I quite like the unexposed four year old, JOYFUL MISSION. 's
gelding is likely to be a short price for this but is 3/1 at the time of
writing, which is more than fair. He has been incredibly light raced so far in
his career and the fact that such a stable persists with a gelding suggest he
could have plenty more to offer at this sort of level and higher. Oisin Murphy
is enlisted to do the steering and I can see Sir Michael's incredible recent
record at Donny improving.

            David
Simcock has talked up CARLOS FELIX as
a handicapper to follow this year and I can see why. A well bred horse being a
brother to Here Comes When and Melodic Motion he should end up a lot better
than 78. His last run showed plenty of promise however and he could just be
about ready to put it all together and rise through the handicap ranks this
term. At 15/2 at the time of writing he looks a solid each way bet and I am
pretty confident he can hit the frame at least.

FAVORITE MOON looks the solid bet in
the 4.30 after his Wolverhampton form has been well advertised already this
season. Prior to that though, he ran in some hot races and showed up well but
he now looks set to make waves in the handicap ranks over this sort of trip. He
should love the step up to 1m 4f and I'm not too sure if he is actually up
against much here (famous last words) so at 9/4 he could be a jolly to follow.

Doncaster 2.50 – Blackcastle Storm – 1pt win

Doncaster 3.25 – Joyful Mission – 1.5pt win

Doncaster 3.55 – Carlos Felix – 1.5pts e/w

Doncaster 4.30 – Favorite Moon – 1.5pt win

Sunday 14.6.20

My Sunday is no doubt going to involve a lot
of Royal revision and for that reason I am only putting up one today.

            Amanda
Perrett loves having winners around her local course, , and I hope she
has a chance with OPEN WIDE in the
Listed sprint. This horse boasts strong course form having finished 2nd in the
Stewards Cup last season. That is strong form and although he's not the highest
rated, I do think he is the most reliable and with a recent run under his belt,
he could

ruffle a few feathers here.

Goodwood 2.20 – Open Wide – 1pt e/w
