ACTION ON NEWMARKET GALLOPS WITH DAVE YOUNGMAN

WITH no proper rain for weeks and trainers anxious to get the
final fitness edge on their before the return of next week action
has been fast and frantic on the watered gallop here at and over Bury
side on the Al Bahathri gallop. All our handlers have horses ready and primed
for the start back next week.

and his wife Maureen have their horses well ready
at their Somerville Lodge base. I hope you like this picture of me out there
yesterday watching a batch of their horses warming up before working over
racecourse side.

IN the Haggas team BORN A a son of worked very
nicely yesterday as did FAYLAQ, the later a son of Dubawi owned by Sheikh
Hamdan is improving nicely at present. AL QAASIM was gelded during the close
season but this son of Teofilo has settled down well since and should have his
first visit to the racecourse pretty soon. DUSTY DREAM is a nice filly owned by
the Queen in this string going well in her work at present and a winning
opportunity for the daughter of Dubawi will be found.

SAEED Bin Suroor sent MILITARY MARCH over to work on the watered
gallop yesterday and was partnered by Oisin Murphy, this colt is progressing
nicely, he was joined in his work by the as yet unraced DISCOVER DUBAI a nice
son of Teofilo, who will have no trouble finding a winning chance for team
Godolphin.

NEW to Newmarket trainer William Knight worked juveniles BEAT
THE STORM and DUAL IDENTITY, the later a good looking and nice moving son of
,the Kennet Valley Syndicate should have a lot of fun with this colt
this season.

sent ENABLE to have a nice stretching breeze on the
Al Bahathri and she is coming along nicely without any buttons being pushed
just yet. Among the unraced horses to work  from this stable were RICETTA,
SUNRAY MAJOR and SWIFT VERDICT all three will be adding to the winners register
for the Clarehaven yard this season.

had Dane O'Neill in to ride work on the once
raced THIBAAN and the son of War Front showed how much he has improved and will
win his maiden nicely. went in and had a sit on the Queen's New
Approach colt FIRST RECEIVER and this strikingly good moving horse is looking
very nice. As yet unraced ASTRO KING a lovely son of Kingman owned bY Saeed
Suhail has impressed me very much in his work this spring and look a colt with
a bright future for the Freemason Lodge yard. Sylvestre De Sousa went in and
rode work on the unraced CHAI YO POWER, this beautiful looking son of Le Havre
has a lovely low action and will be seen to advantage when unleashed onto the
racecourse.

FINALLY, Sir Mark Prescott, this trainer along with his
assistant William Butler, are out earlier than normal in the morning these
days, in the Heath House string ANIMAL INSTINCT and LE REVEUR are moving like
future winners, the later has had just the two racecourse appearances so need
one more race to get a handicap mark before going up the handicap route. daveyoungman@btinternet.com
