Aidan O'Brien says he's not given up hope on Ryan Moore being able to compete in big races both in the UK and Ireland this summer.
Due to strict coronavirus quarantine rules, anyone set to enter the Republic of Ireland next month from the UK may be forced to enter quarantine for 14 days.
The English 2,000 and 1,000 Guineas are set to take place on June 6 and 7 and the Irish equivalents are scheduled for June 12 and 13, so that would make it impossible for jockeys like Moore to compete in both.
O'Brien admits it's not an ideal situation but is happy to accept the terms that come with racing given the go-ahead to resume, with the action set to get underway in the UK from Monday and over the Irish Sea a week later.
The trainer would usually have horses and jockeys getting ready for big races in both countries but that is unlikely this summer, although he knows things could still change as lockdown measures are eventually eased further.
He said in the Irish Herald: “If you come into Ireland you have to go into two weeks of quarantine before you do anything so if you were to ride in the Irish Guineas then you couldn't ride in the English Guineas.
“Then if you ride in the English Guineas, you couldn't ride in the Irish Guineas, so it's not straightforward.
“Things are slowly changing every day so you don't really know where it's at, we'll get close to the time and see where it is.”
