Aidan O’Brien is planning to run US Navy Flag and Gustav Klimt in the Irish 2000 Guineas, while Threeandfourpence could also be added.
The Ballydoyle trainer has a wealth of options for the contest at the Curragh on Saturday, with US Navy Flag and Gustav Klimt, who was a decent sixth in the 2000 Guineas, among those the most likely to be kept in.
Conclusion, Spanish Point, Actress, Athena, Could It Be Love, I Can Fly, Most Gifted and Threeandfourpence are among O’Brien’s other interests in the 14 still left in the field as it stands as he assesses his options for the Curragh, with Clemmie and Happily also tipped to run.
O’Brien said: “The plan at the minute is that US Navy Flag, who ran in France, and Gustav Klimt, who ran at Newmarket, will go.
“Threeandfourpence might go as well. We’ll see what else, but they are the main ones at the moment.”
Frankel colt Elarqam, who was fourth in the 2000 Guineas, is another eye-catching name among the 14 potential runners, while Charlie Appleby’s Symbolization is also left in at this stage.
