Best Solution eyes Derby chance

Best Solution's trainer Saeed Bin Suroor is now considering the , after a Trial win at on Saturday.

Best Solution managed a victory in his latest outing with the Betfred Derby Trial success and it's an important step in his quest to the Derby.

The three-year-old beat Glencadam Glory by three-and-a-quarter lengths, with 's colt tracking the leader but never looked like challenging as the winner finished strongly.

Saeed Bin Suroor's colt was priced at 7/1 before the race, with his most recent outing prior to this one being an eight-placed finish at in February, that followed a fourth-place finish on the same course.

Despite the two downfalls in form, Best Solution impressed at Lingfield but Saeed Bin Suroor is still unsure whether he will run at Epsom.

The trainer said: “He has been working in the morning showing his trip is a mile and a half. I think the ground won't make any difference to where he goes. More than likely he will be running in the English Derby.”

Pat Cosgrave rode the winner on Saturday and is confident he can deliver in the bigger races after the way he ran this time out, adding: “They went a really good gallop and they didn't mess about. When I got by the two-and-a-half pole, I let him go and he stretched out going down the straight and I couldn't fault him in any way.”

The 34-year-old jockey, who has ridden 90 races in the current and has managed to place in over 50% of those races, says Best Solution could ‘handle Epsom very well.'
