Burke targets Haydock meet

has revealed he is leaning towards taking Quiet Reflection to the meeting at later this month.

Quiet Reflection enjoyed a fantastic 2016 campaign, winning four of her six starts including Group One victories in the at and the Sprint Cup at Haydock, and she was named the Cartier Champion Sprinter for that year.

The four-year-old has not been seen since finishing seventh in the Qipco British Champions Sprint Stakes at last October but a return to competitive action is just around the corner.

Burke is currently mulling over two options for his charge – the Duke of Stakes on May 17 or the Temple Stakes at Haydock 10 days later – and he admits the latter option is leading the way right now.

The Leyburn trainer said, as quoted by Yorkshire Post: “At the moment I'm favouring going to Haydock for the Temple with her, but it all depends if there's ‘soft' in the going description.”

Burke also revealed the daughter of Showcasing is likely to get a gallop at on when has ended for the day.

He added: “She's in great form and I'm thinking of taking her for a day out after racing at Redcar on Thursday. I think that will do her good.”
