Caravaggio set for French Guineas

Trainer Aidan O'Brien has confirmed that Caravaggio is set to race in the French on Sunday week.

The son of Scat Daddy, who has won each of his four starts as a juvenile including in the Coventry Stakes at Royal and the Phoenix Stakes at the , was set to feature in Saturday's Qipco 2000 Guineas at .

However, O'Brien revealed on that Caravaggio will not feature, but instead is looking to pitch him into the the Poule d'Essai des Poulains at Deauville on May 14.

He said: “We always had our eye on the French race with him and his big works are going to be this weekend.

“He's going to do plenty this week and then we'll see how we are going.

“We know that he can go sprinting anytime. He's not short of pace.”
