Frankie Dettori is in line to challenge for a fifth Arc after being selected to ride Fascinating Rock in Sunday's race.
The Dermot Weld-trained horse was victorious in the Tattersalls Gold Cup earlier in the season and is set to head to Chantilly, although he will have to impress in a work out on Tuesday before travelling.
Weld says the 25-1 shot could yet be held back but if he does go then Dettori has been selected for the ride, the Italian having enjoyed great success in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in the past, mostly recently guiding Golden Horn to victory last year.
Weld could be left without an entry for the Group 1 showpiece should Fascinating Rock and Harzand miss out, the latter having yet to prove he is over the collision suffered in the Irish Champion Stakes.
