Saeed bin Suroor insists that Racing History will compete in next month's Qipco Champion Stakes at Ascot if he continues to impress.
The four-year-old has not been seen this season after impressing with three wins in 2015 at Haydock, Chester and Windsor.
However, the son of Pivotal could not get the job done in last October's Champion Stakes, finishing fourth as Fascinating Rock took the mile-and-a-quarter showpiece.
The Godolphin-owned colt has been working well on Newmarket's Limekilns gallops and and the handler wants to see more of the same before letting him loose at Ascot once again.
“He is talented, he has had lots of things go wrong with him but so far he is doing well. He worked on the Limekilns this morning and worked nicely,” said Bin Suroor.
“I need to see something more from him in his next few pieces of work before we make a decision if we go to the Champion Stakes. If we are 100 per cent happy then we will go.”
