Egan racing family still producing the goods

Richard Eagle meets up with John Egan and daughter Alexandra at Brighton.

I have found horse racing people tend to be no different to the rest of us. There are some racing folk who will cross a crowded room to say hello.
In my experience one person that fits that bill is John Egan. John is now the senior jockey in the weighing room, after Jimmy Quinn retired. Even at 58 you can still bump into the veteran jockey on UK racecourses . He has more than 2,000 winners in 30 different countries.
