Jelka, a UK-based specialist in welfare-led equine facilities, has announced a new partnership with German manufacturer Sascotec to bring advanced conditioning and rehabilitation systems to the UK equestrian market.

The Sascotec Horsepower range includes equine treadmills, vibration plates and integrated systems designed to support both training and recovery.

The technology is already used internationally by professional yards, veterinary practices and rehabilitation centres across multiple equine disciplines.

Jelka works as a long-term partner to design and deliver equestrian facilities that improve horse welfare, performance and operational efficiency, providing integrated solutions from early planning through to installation and system integration.

Wider shift

The launch reflects a wider shift within the equestrian sector towards more structured, data-led approaches to training, alongside increased focus on horse welfare, injury prevention and long-term management.

Sascotec’s systems enable precise control of speed, incline and workload, delivering consistent and repeatable exercise conditions that are not influenced by weather or ground conditions.

This allows for more structured conditioning programmes, while also supporting controlled rehabilitation through progressive return-to-work protocols.

Adrian Hindley, director at Jelka, said: “Our focus has always been on creating better environments for horses, combining welfare, performance and practical usability.

“Sascotec’s systems align closely with that approach, offering a level of control and consistency that supports both training and rehabilitation.

“We are pleased to be bringing this technology to the UK market.”

Innovation

Sascotec has developed its systems over many years and is established across a range of high-performance equine environments internationally.

Oliver Sandmann, founder and director of Sascotec, added: “The UK is an important market with a strong equestrian tradition and a growing openness to innovation.

“As approaches to training and horse management continue to evolve, there is increasing demand for solutions that deliver consistent, measurable outcomes.”

Jelka will provide consultation, installation and ongoing support, helping clients integrate the systems effectively and maximise their long-term value.

Jelka is working with selected professional users across the UK to demonstrate and evaluate the systems in real-world environments, supporting greater awareness of controlled, data-led approaches to training and rehabilitation.
