Chester 2.40 – Irish raider could be Star

There is no doubting TRIBAL STAR has to prove himself on turf after showing his best form on artificial surfaces but a bit of juice in the ground at Chester might just see him do just that.

Ado McGuinness sends him over for the valuable Watergate Cup on the Roodee where he looks to have a good chance off a low weight.

There look to be plenty in here with better turf form but none look as well weighted as he does, especially off the back of his recent victory at Dundalk.

Silvestre De Sousa is booked to do the steering and this looks the main reason why he would be at Chester on Saturday.

Current of 9/1 look more than fair and I’m certainly on board.

Doncaster 3.40 – Scandinavia could be a Leger legend in years to come

Looking back at previous winners of the Goodwood Cup there had only been one 3 year old win the race in recent history (25 years) and that was the great Stradivarius.

That was until SCANDINAVIA took down stablemate Illinois last month in this year’s edition.

I’m not suggesting Scandinavia is going to be as good as Stradivarius but the sheer fact he has repeated that feat suggests he should have a strong chance here for sure.

You can argue he has been beaten by Carmers already this season but he only really got going late that day and I suggest his master trainer has bought him along this season with the Autumn in mind and his last two runs have shown marked improvement each time.

There has been a slight market drift in the last 24 hours so hopefully we can get some value tomorrow morning.

Leopardstown 4.25 – Soumillon to learn from Deauville defeat

JANUARY and Fallen Angel reoppose after ‘s mare just prevailed in a ding dong battle in the Prix Rothschild last time out.

‘s filly seemed to have all bases covered 2f out but probably hit the front soon enough and allowed the more experienced mare a chance to fight back and put her down at the right time.

I think it might be a different story here with the bend and that experience under Christophe Soumillion’s belt as I expect January to reverse that form in no uncertain terms.

She has improved throughout the season and looks to be developing into a top miler who could be a real force to be reckoned with next season as four year old.

Leopardstown 5.30 – Harrington to turn up the heat

The softer conditions on offer tomorrow are certain to suit HOTAZHELL much better than the quick ground he has been running on all Summer.

Jessica has minded him as a result and not overraced him through the Summer opting to wait for Autumn targets like tomorrow’s Irish Champion Stakes.

He has plenty on his plate with Delacroix and Anmaat in opposition but I do anticipate the softer ground to bring about plenty of improvement and he could be interesting at a big price.
