Ben Morgan’s Glorious Goodwood Day One tips – Noble to become 7f Champion?

Our resident tipster, Ben Morgan, gives his best for the opening day at

Goodwood 1.55 – Have a Dabble on Andab in Vintage Stakes

This looks a good renewal of the Vintage Stakes and I could make a case for all the runners.

One I’m probably most interested in now tackling 7f is Joseph O’Brien’s ANDAB.

Always well thought of, he has shown his class in all 3 runs to date, despite only winning once.

On breeding, you would suggest he would be better over further, as Saxon Warrior hasn’t produced many sprinters and his last two runs have probably backed up that thought process so this looks a logical next step.

I think 8/1 underestimates his ability and he should be backed each way.

Goodwood 2.30 – Jersey winner to take another step up the ladder

He might not have beaten much in the Jersey Stakes, but boy, did NOBLE CHAMPION beat them.

Always in cruise control, sat behind Spy Chief, he ceased control of the race when he hit the front, and although he wondered right across the track, he was still a convincing winner.

It was a performance which caught my eye, and if able to reproduce that again, I think he holds outstanding claims in a wide open Lennox receiving weight off his elders.

Goodwood 4.20 – Yorkshire Puds to provide just desserts

Given of YORKSHIRE PUDS have had such a positive track record here on the Sussex Downs, I am surprised to see such large around their most recent speedy 2-year-old in the maiden on the card.

It is a good maiden, I grant you that, but it looks as if this has been the plan from the get-go as he bids to follow in his stablemates’ footsteps.

Tom Marquand is booked, and I would suggest a big step forward from his first start is incoming. Great each way bet.
