GOT a 1p coin or two in your pocket? Me neither.
The 1p has gone the same way as the farthing – not the Penny Farthing but a beautiful but poor little farthing – when I was a kid in the Fifties.
As I recall, you could buy a Penny Chew for a halfpenny and two farthings if you were that well off after primary school in Catford.
