True Love in a power cut: Ian Heitman sees Murray and Egan rise from Ballydoyle’s Phoenix misery

The intended clash between two of Aidan O’Brien’s Royal Ascot winners - Gstaad, winner of the Coventry Stakes, and True Love, winner of Queen Mary Stakes - in the Phoenix Stakes, the first European Group 1 of the season for 2yos, failed to materialise when Gstaad was ruled out on the morning of the race.
