In over three decades, Sara Bradstock’s compact yard, adjacent to St Michael and All Angels Church in Letcombe Bassett, has rarely contained more than its current 15 charges, and even that tally includes point-to-pointers.
Yet it is steeped in history – and glory.
Just stride into Manor House Stables, and you are confronted by one of the greats, Coneygree, peering out of his box.
Now aged 19, it’s been seven years since he was last readied for a race, and 2015 when, as a novice, he claimed the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
