It was pouring with rain when I got into my car in Devon, tipping down all the way to Cheltenham and piddling down in the car park when I got here but by the time betting got underway on the first, there was sunshine trying to make its debut for the day. I was embedded with Star Sports on the rail so privy to their often lumpy business, handled by Tony customer facing and Lofty dealing with the bigger punters’ requests at the rear of the joint and tapping Tony’s bets...
