Oisin Murphy and Billy Loughnane go head-to-head at Windsor on Monday night

The UK Flat Jockeys’ Championship has been grabbing the headlines for many weeks now as Billy Loughnane and Oisin Murphy continue to go toe-to-toe.

And on Monday night at Windsor, the pair both have a stack of top chances to get on the scoreboard.

With Billy Loughnane having five mounts, of which three are favourite.

While Oisin Murphy has three Windsor rides this on Monday – with the Richard Hughes-trained Harry Knows looking his best chance of a winner.

Loughnane will head into the Windsor card 12 winners ahead of Murphy, with the standings 94-82.

BILLY LOUGHNANE 94 452 21%

UK Flat Jockeys’ Championship Sub-Plot At Windsor On Monday

The first Loughnane/Murphy clash will come in the 6:16pm – a 2yold Nursery Handicap – and if the betting is to be believed it could be first-blood to Oisin here.

He rides the odds-on shot Harry Knows, who bolted up over CD last time and is now into a handicap for the first time.

Loughnane’s mount This Moment will be in the famous Bow Echo colours and for trainer George Boughey – he’s 0-3 so far, but heads here having been gelded since his last run.

However, the 6:45pm race will give Loughnane a chance to fire back as he’s on the well-fancied Real Bullet, who is another proven CD winner. While Murphy has no ride.

Then as the evening progresses, Oisin Murphy only has two more Windsor rides (Badri and Creciente) and being 9/1 and 9/2 – his chances of another winner on the night are slim.

Loughnane Should Finish The Night Strongly

In contrast, Loughnane, could finish the evening with a bang.

The winning Sussex Stakes rider has Princess Honey Bee in the 7:45pm, who has shown a decent level of form and will be the hot fancy to land this maiden fillies’ race.

While in the last, Loughnane has another leading opportunity with the Gary & Josh Moore-trained My Old Mate.

He bolted up over CD last time and a 5lb hike in the handicap might not be enough to stop him going in again.

Murphy will be looking to spoil the ‘lucky last’ Loughnane party on the Rod Millman runner Creciente.
