GLORIOUS GOODWOOD Horse Racing Tips: Wednesday 29th July 2026

13:50 – Coral Rewards Shaker (GBBplus Race) 1m4f (ITV)

HATTEEN took a bit of time to find his stride at Doncaster last time out, but once this Andrew Balding three-year-old hit the front, he powered clear to win by over four lengths.

That came in a Novice Stakes, and while he steps into handicap company for the first time here, an opening mark of 88 looks workable.

Given that last run was his first try over 1m4f, there should be plenty more improvement to come. Oisin Murphy takes the ride, and the Balding team know what it takes to win this-they took it with The Goat back in 2023.

Of the rest, Infraad is worth a look for the William Haggas stable and could easily step forward over this longer trip, though it’s worth noting he was turned over at odds-on last time.

The Joseph O’Brien team took this race 12 months ago and send out Cannes today.

He was 14th in the King George V Stakes on his latest start, but that form is holding up remarkably well-the runner-up, Al Azd, has since bolted up at Sandown.

That said, another one coming out of that Royal Ascot race is TIERRA DEL TORO.

He finished ninth, but if he settles a bit better today, he’s well worth another chance as Goodwood’s track layout should suit this Wathnan runner much better.

14:25 – British Stallion Studs EBF Alice Keppel Fillies’ Conditions Stakes (GBB Race) 5f (ITV)

Here’s another contest packed with Royal Ascot form, particularly from the Queen Mary Stakes, where WILD BLOSSOM finished tenth.

She simply did too much too early that day, so the sharper, quicker track here at Goodwood should play right to her strengths.

Despite pulling hard, she was still only four and a half lengths behind a very useful winner in Victorious-and the runner-up, Senorita Bonita, has since come out and bagged the July Stakes.

Prior to Ascot, she was seriously impressive when winning at Carlisle, brushing aside Crownbreaker, who went on to land a Listed race in France. I’m backing Wild Blossom to bloom again today.

As for the rest, Wathnan’s other runner, Hidden Gift, put in a solid effort to finish fifth in the Albany Stakes and should be right in the mix.

I was also really impressed by the way ZIGAZIG AH won the Wetherbys Super Sprint at Newbury last time, making her a tempting ‘spicy’ alternative to the main pick.

Saffie Osborne takes the ride-and few jockeys are in better form right now. They’ll be hoping for a bit of ‘Girl Power’ all the way to the line.

15:00 – Rolls-Royce Oak Tree Stakes (Group 3) 7f (ITV)

ZANTHOS has had plenty of valid excuses in her last couple of starts.

She didn’t seem to stay the 1m trip on heavy ground in France back in May, and the experiment dropping back to 6f in the Commonwealth Cup simply didn’t work out (16th).

Now, she steps back up to 7f-by far her best distance, having won twice and finished a close second to Touleen at this trip.

Crucially, those top runs all came on faster ground, which she’ll get on Wednesday, and Oisin Murphy stays in the saddle. Don’t be at all surprised to see her bounce back.

Flora Of Bermuda won the G3 Summer Stakes at York over 6f last time out, and connections are stepping her up to 7f here.

She has always looked like an extra furlong would suit-though it doesn’t always play out that way on the track-so she remains a big danger.

Sayidah Dariyan with Ryan Moore aboard demands respect, as do Ralph Beckett’s pair, Planet Seeker and Dash Of Azure, especially given the trainer has won the last two renewals of this race.

Planet Seeker is particularly interesting after an impressive win at HQ under Jamie Spencer (who rides again) and is already a proven winner around Goodwood.

15:35 – Veuve Clicquot Molecomb Stakes (Group 3) 5f (ITV)

Yet more Royal Ascot form on display here, led by PERSHAADA, who finished a fine fourth in the Queen Mary.

I’ve already mentioned how strong I think that Ascot juvenile form is-further boosted by runner-up Senorita Bonita winning the July Stakes since.

This Richard Hannon filly was only two and a half lengths off the winner that day, but crucially, she already has winning form at Goodwood, having scored in a Novice Stakes here back in late May.

To top it off, the Hannon yard boasts a fantastic record in the Molecomb, having won two of the last five runnings.

Among the opposition, Brazilian Diva is worth a mention if only because her trainer, Diego Dias, is a perfect 3-for-3 here at Goodwood.

She was last seen running Carry The Flag close at Naas.

El Floridita looks a tad overpriced following an excellent second to Orthodox in the Norfolk Stakes.

Meanwhile, the unbeaten Adonius hasn’t put a foot wrong and looks a star in the making for Rebecca Menzies.

Crownbreaker and Ruler’s Pride (who will appreciate dropping back to 5f) are both player contenders as well.

16:10 – Visit Qatar Sussex Stakes (Group 1) 1m (ITV)

BOW ECHO can keep his flawless record intact here and notch a third victory over Gstaad this season.

The George Boughey runner has already lowered his rival’s colours in both the 2000 Guineas and the St James’s Palace Stakes, and more of the same looks on the cards today.

Granted, Gstaad got to within a short-head of Bow Echo at Ascot, but the winner had to come wide around the houses and did remarkably well to pull it off.

Gstaad also has to contend with stall 1-a draw that has produced just a single winner in the last 20 runnings-and there are still a few minor lingering questions over the current form of the Aidan O’Brien yard.

Opera Ballo looks the main threat to Bow Echo this time.

He’ll appreciate having a turn to negotiate after running second in the Queen Anne on Ascot’s straight course.

The slight niggle is that he has to concede a massive 8lb to both Bow Echo and Gstaad, which won’t be easy given he’s rated a pound inferior to the Guineas winner.

A small case can be made for last year’s Vintage Stakes winner Zavateri since we know he handles the track, but he needs to rediscover the spark that saw him beat Gstaad in the National Stakes at the Curragh last September.
