JONBON IN THE HOUSE: Andy Newton picks over the facts and figures from Ascot highlight

The Grade 1 Clarence House Chase has been the victim to the weather over the years with several renewals having to be rerouted to Cheltenham – including in 2023 and 2024 – so let’s hope the weather plays ball this month.
Last year we were okay though, as Jonbon saw off Energumene at Ascot – making amends for his neck defeat in 2024 when Elixir De Nutz outgunned the JP McManus star at Cheltenham.
This year the race is set to be run at Ascot on Saturday January 17 – but having been beaten several times since, we’ll have to see if last year’s winner Jonbon is back to defend his crown.
