Bens Friday & Saturday Tips

SOME DETAIL looks to have a great chance in the Marathon race at today. Nigel Hawke's charge has shown some of his best form over these extended trips and with a feather on his back today I think he could be set for his big day in the sun. Mr Hawke doesn't send them up here too often and when he does he does it with great success.

A speculative punt at in the last race could pay dividends as RICH could have more to offer now as a 3 year old. Ed Bethell's charge was backed a few times as a two year old and although he couldn't quite win a race, he certainly showed enough to suggest there is plenty of talent there. A well related type, he has no weight on his back today and could just shake a few of the market principles up here.

Perth 2.40 – Some Detail

Doncaster 5.05 – Rich King

It was great to see BOARDMAN show some zest again on his recent run at . Probably not suited to that track he was a big eye catcher as he stormed home late on despite seemingly being in the wrong position 2f from home. On his best form from last year he must have a great chance here today off a mark of 90 and I hope he will take quite a bit of stopping.

INTRINSIC BOND looks a huge price at tomorrow given his course record. A below par run last time out can be forgiven and he is better judged on his numerous placed efforts in deeper races than this. If he comes on for last week's blow out I think he will be in the shake up here.

Similar comments apply to BENADALID at Doncaster tomorrow evening. Chris Fairhurst's admirable performer has now dropped to a mark of 78 which is far too tempting for me to ignore after a couple of excusable efforts. If this race was at Ripon I would be ultra confident but he does have decent form at Doncaster and I can see no reason why he won't be competitive here at a big price.

2.05 – Boardman

Ripon 4.00 – Intrinsic Bond

Doncaster 7.05 – Benadalid
