I typically let POWER OF DARKNESS go unbacked last time out after being quite sweet on him the run before. Both runs were at his favoured Newmarket and his victory there last time out can be marked up as he defied a track bias to beat a decent field. He heads to Newbury late this afternoon in a competitive looking 1m handicap, for a Tuesday anyway, and I think he has a good chance of following up. There are a few unproven types who are taking up majority of market attention but I think a solid handicapper like the selection could be the way to go. Ground, track and trip are all fine and he is clearly in good form so 10/1 looks a sound price.
